The 80th edition of Paris-Nice will take place from Sunday 6 March to Sunday the 13th. The race goes back to 1933 and is after the Grand Tours one of the most important stage races on the cycling calendar. As in recent years, the riders will be shot into action in a town near Paris and, obviously, the finish is in Nice. The famous Col d’Èze features in the finale of the last stage, while the penultimate stage finishes at the Col de Turini. (Slideshow route/profile)
Max Schachmann is title holder. Last year, the German won Paris-Nice for the second consective year. Aleksandr Vlasov and Ion Izagirre rounded out the podium.
With seven consecutive victories in the 1980’s Sean Kelly in the most successful rider in The Race to the Sun.
